Our Classroom

Here is a sneak peek at Room 20 so far...
We are so thrilled to be working together to create a beautiful, engaging learning space for our young learners. We feel that genuine learning happens in all sorts of spaces but is facilitated best in well-organized and well defined areas. Our classroom will be extended to included an outdoor learning space and learning will happen in many areas of our school but here is a look at our indoor classroom so far.

This is our creative art centre and part of the science centre. We will have interesting student inquiries that follow the interests of our students. In this picture you can also see the classroom washroom.

This is our guided reading and writing table where students will work one-on-one with an educator or in small groups. You can see our word wall where students and educators will attach words together for future reference and a group meeting area for lessons, sharing times and restorative circles.

This area contains a computer centre for the students and art supply storage.

In this picture you can see our reading nook- a cozy place for students to do quiet reading and book exploration. In the reading corner there will also be a listening center and felt story board and a small doll house for quieter play.
Our group meeting and learning area. The small chair on the left is the 'sharing chair'. The door you see leads to one of the other kindergarten rooms.
This is our dramatic play centre. This centre will change throughout the school year based on student interests and the inquiries.

We can't wait for you to see for yourselves!
